LONDON MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CONSPIRACY TO TRANSMIT STOLEN PROPRTY
CONCORD, NEW
HAMPSHIRE – United States Attorney Tom
Colantuono reports that 21-year-old Christopher LeBlanc, who resides
in New London, New Hampshire, pled guilty today to the crime of conspiracy
to transmit stolen goods in interstate commerce in a case involving equipment
stolen from a New Hampshire company.
LeBlanc pled guilty to conspiring with another person to sell stolen
night vision optics and lasers through the eBay.com website. In pleading
guilty, LeBlanc admitted that last year from March through May, he stole
equipment from Insight Technology, Inc., in Londonderry, New Hampshire,
while there working as a part-time security guard. Insight Technology
designs and produces tactical optical devices, like night vision goggles
and lasers, primarily for military and law enforcement use. LeBlanc sold
the stolen equipment to another individual based on an agreement that
the goods, which were worth more than $5,000, would be sold through that
individual’s eBay.com business.
LeBlanc is facing a maximum prison sentence of five years and a maximum
fine of $250,000. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for October
2, 2006. LeBlanc was released on personal recognizance pending his sentencing
hearing.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and
is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mark S. Zuckerman.
