MANCHESTER MAN SENTENCED TO MORE THAN 12 YEARS FOR HIS INVOLVEMENT IN A SERIES OF ARMED ROBBERIES

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Keith Shane MacLeod, age 29, of Manchester, NH, was sentenced today in United States District Court in Concord, New Hampshire, for his role in a series of armed robberies in several towns along Route 101, during the month of February 2004.

In October of 2006 MacLeod, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting his co-defendant, Brandon Bilodeau, in an armed robbery of the DC Mobil convenience store in Candia, New Hampshire on February 24, 2004. At that plea hearing, MacLeod admitted that he drove Bilodeau to the convenience store, waited outside while Bilodeau robbed it and then drove the getaway car after the robbery.

Today, United States Chief Judge, Steven McAuliffe sentenced MacLeod to 12 years and 7 months in federal prison, followed by 3 years of Supervised Release. Parole is no longer available to prisoners in the federal system. Brandon Bilodeau was previously sentenced to 27 years and 3 months in federal prison.

After the Court imposed the sentence, U.S. Attorney Colantuono said, “This 12 year and 3 month prison sentence brings to a close a series of violent and dangerous robberies. The investigation and prosecution of these two individuals has been a model of coordinated effort by federal and local law enforcement. Multiple agencies were involved in the investigation of several burglaries and armed robberies in four different towns, all of which pulled together with the assistance of federal agencies, to solve the cases and bring the defendants to justice.”

U.S. Attorney Colantuono credits the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Candia Police Chief Mike McGillen, Epping Police Chief Gregory Dodge, Exeter Police Chief Richard Kane, and Fremont Police Chief Neal Janvrin for the successful prosecution of this case.
