SALEM BANK ROBBERY DEFENDANT HELD WITHOUT BAIL
CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE: United States Attorney Tom Colantuono announced today that Talbot “Timmy” Curtin, age 38 of Fremont, NH, has been indicted for bank robbery.
The Indictment, which was handed down by the Grand Jury on May 16, 2007, alleges that on July 18, 2005 Curtin robbed the Bank of America in Salem, New Hampshire. Curtin made his first appearance on this charge in federal court today, entering a plea of not guilty.
The trial of this matter is scheduled to begin for July 10, 2007 before United States Judge Paul Barbadoro. Today, Curtin was held in custody, without bail, pending the trial. If convicted, Curtin faces up to 20 years in prison and a quarter million dollar fine.
This matter was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Salem, New Hampshire Police Department.
An indictment merely alleges that a crime has been committed and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
