BOSTON MAN SENTENCED FOR BANK ROBBERY

BOSTON, MA - A Boston man was sentenced yesterday in U.S. District Court for bank robbery.

United States Attorney Michael J. Sullivan and Warren T. Bamford , Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation - New England Field Division, announced that CHARLES CARRINGTON, age 42, of Boston, MA, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Patti Saris 151 months imprisonment, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release. CARRINGTON plead guilty to bank robbery on December 11, 2007.

At the earlier plea hearing, the prosecutor told the Court that had the case proceeded to trial the Government’s evidence would have proven that on December 28, 2004 at approximately 9:30 in the morning CARRINGTON entered the Bank of America at 315 Center Street, Jamaica Plain, MA. He approached a teller window demanding money. The teller opened her draw and CARRINGTON reached under the teller’s window took $1810.00 dollars, and fled. The teller activated her silent alarm, as CARRINGTON fled up Centre Street into an awaiting truck and left the scene. Witnesses observed the vehicle and its registration which they supplied to the Boston Police. A short time later, a vehicle fitting the description, was stopped on Centre Street and CARRINGTON was arrested. Money taken from the robbery was recovered at the scene.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Violent Crimes Task Force. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kenneth G. Shine of Sullivan’s Major Crimes Unit.
