RELEASE MANCHESTER MAN SENTENCED FOR BANK ROBBERYCONCORD, NH—Acting United States Attorney for the District of New Hampshire Michael J. Gunnison, FBI Special Agent in Charge Warren Bamford, and Raymond Police Chief David Salios today announced that Anthony Ledoux, 24, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was sentenced today to 70 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to committing the July 25, 2008 robbery of the Sovereign Bank, 8 Epping Road, in Raymond. Ledoux was also sentenced to three years of supervised release which will begin after he is released from prison. During the period of supervised release, Ledoux’s behavior will be monitored by the United States Probation and Pretrial Services Office. At a change of plea hearing held on January 14, 2009, Ledoux admitted that he entered the Sovereign Bank on July 25, 2008 and demanded money from the teller using a note that read: “I have a gun in my pocket. Put your money in a bag and give it to me.” A bank employee gave Ledoux a sum of United States currency and Ledoux left the bank on foot. Ledoux’s image was captured by the bank security system and distributed through the local media. The police eventually obtained information from a number of sources that led to Ledoux’s arrest and conviction. In a related case, Ledoux’s then girlfriend, Jessica Belleville, pleaded guilty on April 8, 2009 to receiving and using the proceeds of the bank robbery. She is scheduled to be sentenced in July. The Raymond Police Department and the FBI investigated this case. |
